DIY a Diaper Castle as a fabulous gift for a baby shower! I’ve seen other smaller ideas for diaper “cakes” but never anything quite like this. And what a great way to set up new parents than with tons of very much needed diapers, right?
- 132 Diapers
- Rubber bands
- Craft paper
- Silver Chain
- Glue gun
Step 1: Roll the diapers one by one and wrap individually with a rubber band. Do this to 132-150 diapers (depends on how big you want the castle).
Step 2: Divide the rubber banded diapers into groups to create the tiers. I created 4 tiers with 6 turrets, so it’s easier if you try to separate your groups of diapers in advance of assembly.
Step 3: To create the base, wrap an elastic band around the biggest group of diapers to form a circle. Make sure the band doesn’t break – that happened to me twice, ugh!
Step 4: Once the base is created, wrap a ribbon or two around the base to decorate.
Step 5: Cut a circle out of the craft paper and place on top.
Step 6: Repeat step 5 for the second tier. Make this base much smaller in order to leave room for the turrets.
Note: I created 4 tiers of diapers with 6 turrets.
Step 7: Create a cone with the craft paper and place one on top of each of the 6 turrets. Place a stick through the top of the turrets and glue in place, include little flags if you like!
Note: It’s very quick and easy to assemble on-site. That way, you don’t have to worry about transporting the castle in one piece.
