How To Make Really Fun Finger Paint Fun with the Family
My kids love art. I mean most kids love the opportunity to be creative, express their imagination, and make a mess (LOL!) I am going to share with you a recipe for how to make finger paint that is easy to do. You and your kids will have so much fun making these finger paints together that it will be worth the effort not to mention saving you money!
This finger paint recipe and tutorial was originally shared by Tanya Memme on the Home & Family Show which airs weekdays at 10 am on the Hallmark Channel. I was given permission to print the finger print recipe and step by step directions.
Finger Paint Ingredients
• 3 tbs Sugar
• 1/2 tsp Salt
• 1/2 cup Corn Starch
• 2 cups water Water
• various Jell-O packages for finger paint colors (I suggest lemon, strawberry, and berry blue)
• colored glitters (optional)
How To Make Finger Paints Tutorial:
Over medium heat, combine sugar, salt, corn starch, and water.
Stir until thickened to about the consistency of Greek Yogurt.
Remove from heat and pour into 4 bowls.
Add ½ package of Jell-O to each bowl for desired color. If you use the three flavors I suggested you can make rad, yellow, and blue finger paints and by mixing 1/4 of the berry blue and lemon you will also get green finger paints.
Add 1 tbs of matching color glitter to each bowl of finger paint, if desired.
Allow finger paint to cool fully before giving to your children to do finger painting.
Finger paints are a great way to allow your child to express their creativity. Have some fun and finger paint with your child. They love to engage together. Finger paints are also a great time to do hand print and foot print art that you can incorporate into your decor. Have fun! Do you think you will try this finger paint recipe?
